    Paraguay:

Paraguay Hecho a Mano (PHAM - Paraguay Made by Hand) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and educating others about the cultural heritage of indigenous Paraguay.  Our mission includes assisting economically disadvantaged indigenous artisans in Paraguay by improving their quality of life. This is accomplished through the development of a free-market trade for their native crafts, which preserves their culture, respects the natural environment, and provides community education and production training programs for the people and their families.

Partners of the Americas Partners of the Americas (POA) is the largest private voluntary organization promoting economic and social development in the Western hemisphere. Through the Partners program, U.S. states are linked in partnerships with countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. POA includes more than 20,000 members in 45 U.S. states and 31 Latin American and Caribbean nations. The Kansas Paraguay Partnership (KPP) is one of the 60 partnerships in POA. During its 27 year history, hundreds of grassroots development projects have been developed in both Kansas and Paraguay. In each KPP activity, Kansan and Paraguayan partners work together to plan and implement community-based projects. Whenever possible, projects are designed to benefit both sides of the partnership. Partner volunteers include doctors, business people, teachers, farmers, engineers and artists. These volunteers share knowledge and skills to develop selfhelp projects at the grassroots level. They provide training and technical assistance to help communities identify and achieve long-range goals.
